I hope everyone had a fantastic Mother's Day. I did. We had my parents over and I did end up doing the cooking myself, but I kept it simple so it wasn't a lot of work. I'm happy to say that my family really seems to know me these days. I love scented candles and oils, and I love to drink tea in the afternoons, so armed with that knowledge my daughters went to Yankee Candle, a store I love, and got me a scented wax burner in the shape of a teapot and teacup. I just love it.
My husband went above and beyond, because I know he spent a lot. No, I'm not talking diamonds here, but in my opinion, something better. Recently my neighborhood has become ridiculously noisy between barking dogs sometimes for hours on end, and a new roof going on close by where one of the workers has somehow hooked his cell phone up to his car, so every time the phone rings his horn beeps. Can you imagine? I want to strangle the guy. Anyway, some days it's extremely hard to concentrate on my writing, so my husband bought me a pair of amazing, noise reduction Bose headphones to use with my Ipod. Here I am plugging products, but I'll tell you, I can put these puppies on, set the Ipod to the musical selections of my choice and just enter my own little world. It's like being inside a sound studio. I was actually up way too late last night because I couldn't take them off before I'd heard all my favorite songs through them. The sound quality is awesome, and you could stand right in front of me talking and I won't hear you. I've never been a fan of earbuds (ouch!) or the small headphones that sit right on your ear (itch!). These are heaven! My own personal, private, soundproof heaven! Oh, thank you, thank you!!!
